Hi Suzanne,
Isn't it interesting to see how a school in the middle of the jungle would structure a class schedule? Your description of Reflexion Espiritual as a time for meditation is a good start. Historically, the Mayans have been closely connected with the natural energies surrounding them, and it is this consciousness that allows them maintain a balance with nature. Unfortunately, this tradition has faded in recent years. Including time for reflection encourages students to revitalize this cultural practice and value this part of their culture. Propiedades is simply Chemistry class. I hope this helps clarify your questions!

I am very impressed with your work with the Maya, especially the curriculum shown.
I notice that there is a period between 7:30 and 7:45 for Reflexion Espiritual. Is this some sort of meditation? Can you explain? Also what is Propiedades? Sorry, I don't know Spanish.

Hello Steve and team, This is fantastic! I worked for 4 years as E.D. of www.AccesKenya.org, helping set up and run education programs in Kenya, so I would love to know more about what innovations you've come up with. Do you have written info posted or post-able somewhere?
