Rotary Serves

Rotary has been one of Ak’ Tenamit’s strongest supporters for nearly 20 years, and the impact their support has made in the region is visible:

• The academic opportunities we offer our students have expanded
• Our school’s infrastructure has grown
• Our clinic’s medicine supply is well-stocked
• Our mobile clinic is able to make regular visits to very remote villages
• Many villages now have access to clean drinking water

Rotary Supports

Individual club grants, Humanitarian matching grants, and District grants have filled many needs:

• Medical supplies and equipment
• Outboard motors for mobile clinic boats
• Solar energy equipment
• Computers for students
• Equipment for restaurant-schools
• Outfitting the floating dental clinic
• Family water filters

Individual Rotarians have made innumerable individual contributions, and many are student sponsors and healthcare partners.

Rotary Works

Rotary service teams have been coming to Guatemala to help improve Ak’ Tenamit’s infrastructure for 10 years. They brave the sticky jungle heat to work alongside students and community members to enhance Ak’ Tenamit’s education programs. Here are some of their 2011 projects:
